The sessions and success at Lotus Petals fired up me and the team to do something more. We soon set out on the hunt for our next venture and landed at Gagan Bharti, a school gracious enough to host us and help us address 100+ girls in 8th-9th grades. In the flow of planning and preparing, I had forgotten the scale of impact we are creating here. It’s not just these young girls but also potentially their families and further and that impact fell on us in the class ever so heavily. Good thing we came prepared 🙂
We had the workshop ready with learnings from our previous sessions. With fun skits and videos, we tried to impress upon them different careers in technology, the perks, and most importantly - the impact. It is ever so important to highlight the level of reach and change technology holds in our lives and how they can help shape it. It was enlightening for us to see how we were able to build interest and find the tune of the crowd. The girls were excited to see how they could too live a life filled with independence, and build a career that empowers them in the truest sense of the word.
This workshop taught us an interesting methodology to showcase our mission statement to our young audience. While finishing off with a fun quiz, we posed the question - how many female CEOs/founders do you know? These were smart girls who knew everything from Elon Musk to Open AI but still couldn’t come up with a single answer. This lack of role models is what we aspire to change. These workshops serve as a simple message to these girls - if we could do it, so could you. You can be the next generation of women leaders - if you aspire to do so, and we will be there cheering you every step of the way!
