Third Time's the Charm!

Exploring the findings of our third workshop at DIS Edge

Driven by the transformative impact of our workshops, we set our sights on inspiring the next generation of tech talent. We hosted a workshop at Delhi International School for over 50 passionate girls in 8th and 9th grades. Gratefully welcomed by the school's warmth, we were eager to ignite their spark for technology.

Fueled by past learnings, we built a workshop infused with interactive skits and insightful videos. Our aim? To not just introduce the girls to exciting tech careers, but also emphasizing the perks and, most importantly, the potential impact. The interactive session allowed the girls to know more about different tech roles beyond software engineering, such as design, product management and AI engineers. We aimed to underscore the significant influence technology wields in our lives and how they could contribute to shaping it.

As the girls transformed into product designers, app developers, and data analysts, the girls' ideas sparked a fire of inspiration. In their prototype for a food delivery app, we glimpsed not just a product, but a vision for a better future. And in that vision, we saw our faces reflected, humbled, and exhilarated by the ripple effect we were setting in motion.

This experience taught us an effective approach to conveying our mission statement to a young audience. Despite the school having a computer science curriculum, many girls had not considered pursuing a career in the field due to a lack of information. By the workshop's end, we successfully shifted their opinions, and a majority expressed newfound interest. Our message to them was simple: We see ourselves in you. Your dreams matter, and we're here to guide you every step of the way on your journey.
