About GirlsGrow
Tech is the future and has been for a long time. We believe every voice should be part of all technical discussions going forward and we want to bring women to the table. While most affirmative actions in India target college students who are already enrolled in technical courses, GirlsGrow targets high school students who have not yet made the choice between STEM and non-STEM fields and introduce them to a career in Computer Science.
We wish to generate impact through projects, workshops, and programs catered to high school girls which will enable them to learn technology, create projects, and explore a career in STEM.
Through engineering and now working in tech, we have always observed the stark gender gap and experienced it at multiple points. We understand the importance of representation of women in Tech and we discovered the biggest bottleneck - girls in high school.
Stream and college selection are one of the most transformative career decisions that these girls have to undertake. With the lack of female role models in tech and overall absence of exposure, girls are discouraged from choosing PCM and engineering as a career option. We are on a mission to change this narrative and ensure that girls have all the knowledge they need to consider a career in tech.
The future is tech and women need to be a part of the story.
